EYE ON ASTROLOGY: Why Some People Think Astrology Does Not Work?
SECRETS OF TIMING
I live in a community where people are involved in Vedic knowledge and most of the community has had one or more readings. Many of the people I have talked to have been jaded about their readings because they have not been accurate or there was a cultural difference between the person giving the reading and the client. The reading was “lost in translation.” Even the best astrologers in the world may only be 70% accurate because there is some level of free will and spiritual people are aware to make better choices.
It is possible to get very specific information out of a chart that is very precise...Read More
EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS COMBUSTION UNTIL FEB. 19TH
Venus is combust the Sun which means it is not visible in the sky and hidden from view until Feb. 19th. At the moment it is a tight 3 degrees away and does not move beyond a more comfortable 5 degree range until Jan. 31st. Technically in direction motion it is combust within 10 degrees. Sun/Venus combustion can raise jealous issues so remember to praise others and appreciate others at this time and help them and applaud their success and good fortune.
This energy would normally create strong passionate expression and artistic creative energies for artists but with the afflictions can lead to major relationship outbursts. If the sexual/creative energy is not allowed to express itself it can lead to major conflicts...Read More
EYE ON BEING: THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING IN AN ANXIOUS WORLD
I have personally been going through a lot of physical and emotional challenges and when I talk to my friends, I am hearing great distress also. Flu season is taking people out and we had warned in Dec. to stay on top of your immune system with the Sun/Saturn conjunction in late Dec at the winter equinox which has lead to a lot of illness. Mars is weak in degrees and weak in the D-9 chart until Jan. 22nd and that is bringing low energy and flare-ups of anger. New moon energy from Jan. 16th is still keep things a bit low. At least the Kala Sarpa yoga in transit has lifted as the Moon is just past Ketu this morning and will only give us a few more days Jan. 31-Feb. 3rd when the Moon moves past Rahu...Read More
EYE ON THE SKY: SUN IN VEGA CONSTELLATION (Abhijit) : JAN 21-25TH
There is a hidden constellation in the zodiac called Abhijit (located at 6.40-11.13 Capricorn) which is considered one of the most auspicious stars and is the mysterious 28th nakshatra of the zodiac. In the Western astronomical traditions, it is know as Vega and the Sun transits through there for 5 days Jan. 20-25th.
Komilla Sutton notes that Abhijit means victorious and conquering completely and is connected to Brahma, the creator and also to Vishnu the preserver. It is a star where the individual can write their own destiny. One can preserve the old and create something new. This constellation is very powerful and gives one spiritual drive and the ability to want to win regardless of circumstances...Read More
THE PURPOSE OF ASTROLOGY: CUTTING THE PUPPETEER’S STRINGS
My orientation with work is to help you see the emotional and psychological strings that are running your life. The planets impact our thoughts and emotions most and if we understand what is happening, we do not have to buy into the self-deprecation of Saturn or the rashness and anger of Mars. We can catch the thoughts as they manifest, observe them, and banish them.
Back in the 80’s I used to tell Saturn that he could go, that I did not need have his fear and I would feel a sigh of relief. We are more powerful than the planets if we are regular in our meditation and spiritual practices and we can be a master and not a victim. Astrology was never intended to strike fear into our hearts or make us very stuck...Read More
EYE ON THE SKY: SUN IN CAPRICORN: JANUARY 14 – FEBRUARY 12
Sun entered Capricorn: January 14th at 03:16 EST
The Sun moved into Capricorn on January 14th, and is a bit afflicted in transit with a Ketu conjunction into February 3rd contributing to the January 31st total lunar eclipse.
Saturn and Sun are enemies and the eclipse in the sign of Capricorn may contribute to health issues for Leos with this 6th house transit and Capricorns are also vulnerable.
The Sun is afflicted in Capricorn and one may feel that one has not done enough, overworks, and this can create self-centeredness, skepticism, and lack of humor. It may lead to poor circulation, cold hands and feet and problems with the adrenals...Read More
EYE ON THE SKY: MARS IN SCORPIO: JANUARY 16 – MARCH 7
Mars enters Scorpio: January 16th at 18:41 EDT
Mars goes into Scorpio January 16th – March 7th and will be unafflicted except by Rahu from February 14 – 28th but still this transit will be a good time for deep transformation and energy and will particularly support Scorpio rising and a return to better health after the 12th house transit through Libra.
Mars is a bit in transition changing signs from Libra from now and stays weak in transit in the Cancer section of D-9 until Jan. 21st so get extra rest and take time for meditation and spiritual energy.
After Jan. 21st, Mars is strong in it’s own sign of Scorpio, the ruler of the natural 8th house of transformation and intense desires...Read More

WHAT DO SIGNS OWNING THE 7TH HOUSE REVEAL ABOUT COMPATIBILITY IN RELATIONSHIP AND THE LESSONS NEEDED?
We can learn a lot about Vedic astrology in just realizing that the signs owning a particular house will color it in a very specific way. Let’s examine this in the context of relationships.
While planets in signs are more powerful and have a stronger influence on the house, the rising sign and its 7th house owner can reveal a lot about dynamics. Cancer and Leo rising always have trust issues with partners because Saturn owns the 7th house of Capricorn and Aquarius. The following analysis is for rising signs but may overlap with Sun signs or Moon signs also.
