LIVING FOR THE FUTURE: WAITING FOR GODOT AND ASTROLOGY

EYE ON THE SKY: WAITING FOR GODOT AND ASTROLOGY

Samuel Beckett’s seminal play involving two hobo- like characters  waiting for the arrival of Godot, an embodiment of living in hope of the future rather than embracing the present and the existential void is a hallmark in world literature and a reminder of our plight in the world.

The planets are schools and teachers  and their transits set up karmic circumstances so that we can do it better this time. Its like Bill Murray in the 1993 movie, Ground Hog Day.  Will he learn kindness and compassion this time or continue to wake-up the same grumpy old weatherman who treats people terribly?  Are we going to make new and better choices this time or repeat the same patterns and suffer.

I often get people waiting for their next big cycle to star...

SUN IN LIBRA/VISHAKHA : GATEWAY INTO THE SPIRITUAL

EYE ON THE SKY: SUN IN VISHAKHA (LIBRA 20-SCORPIO 3.20)

The Sun moved into a more positive section of Libra today and out of the deepest point of debilitation into a new constellation formed by the four stars in Libra known as the Northern Scales  This year, the Sun in Libra has not been very difficult   because Jupiter is in Libra and it has lightened the normal depression and low self-confidence that this time of year can bring.  The first section (Libra 20-23.20)  Nov 6-8th,  is ruled by Aries where the Sun is exalted in the D-9 chart where passion and instinct are likely to dominate. The Sun is finally guided toward strong confidence, and self-esteem and finds its power.

As Dennis Harness notes, the symbols associated with Vishakha are an archway and a potter’s wheel...

SECRET OF THE 2ND HOUSE PART 2: WHEN FOOD BECOMES LOVE

PART 2:  THE 2ND HOUSE : FAMILY AND FOOD AND MONEY : WHEN FOOD BECOMES LOVE

The 2nd house is very connected to family and early childhood and the ancestry we inherit.   It becomes an expression of how we were raised. As we grow older, our values change and often go beyond what our family taught us to eat and consume and it becomes an extension of the 1st house in terms of extending our identity.  Like the natural 2nd house of Taurus, it becomes a place of choices for what we eat, buy and what sustains our comfort.  It also reflects our attitude toward money.

Still the 2nd house is important to understanding our relationship with our family and the food that we were fed and the food that we enjoy...

ASTRO-FINANCIAL OUTLOOK FOR NOVEMBER: LIGHTENING A BIT

ASTRO-FINANCIAL OUTLOOK FOR NOVEMBER:

(11/3) We are approaching the tail end of some of the more challenging cycles for the year and we have to be grateful that North Korea has not blown anyone up and that the tax plan has been unveiled and we seem to be through the worst of the natural disaster cycles. It looks like that while November is still challenging with Saturn in early degrees of Sagittarius until Nov. 28, it’s much lighter than the past few months. There is one final fear cycle of Saturn combust between Dec. 5-Jan. 7 that peaks into Dec. 21 that may still create an edge but at some point holiday cheer will come to the rescue in December.

We do sense that the cycle that has been unraveling political and sexual secrets will continue to reveal more secrets through the official beg...

While the 2nd house is often discussed as a money house, in Vedic astrology is is called Dhana Bhava meaning storage or food. REMEDIES, MAGIC BULLETS AND RESPONSIBILITY: THE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY

EYE ON ASTROLOGY: FOSTERING INSIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR TRANSFORMING YOUR LIFE

Jyotish means light and it is shining light on people’s hidden patterns and revealing them so that they can take responsibility for changing them through new action and choices and awareness. It should also reveal the play of the puppet stings tugging at our emotions and our psychology so that we realize that the planets are hard at work spinning webs of illusion when there may not really be anything there. It is the craziness and blocks of our thoughts and self-doubt that so often causes so many of our problems.

People think that mantras and vedic ceremonies are magic bullets but that is not totally the case...
