The highlight of the week is the Full moon on Thanksgiving Day in Taurus  which embodies the full heart and spirit of Thanksgiving with a full heart of fullness of life and love, generosity, grounded energy, expanded life, desire for holiday buying and sensual and sexual comfort.  The energy should bleed into Friday also.  The moon is fairly unafflicted and occurs in the constellation of Krittika which can be a bit biting and sharp at times but can promote healing so maybe a good day to tackle those difficult family relation ships.

The positivity of the full moon in Taurus will be countered with the Sun getting  trined by Rahu  exactly in the true node system from Cancer to Scorpio on Nov. 20th and the mean node system on Nov. 21st.  Sun/Rahu connections can create self-aggrandizement and sometimes selfishness and arrogance  and rebellion but there may not be any clue about why one is rebelling.   It may support foreign involvement with foreign governments but also one has to beware of shady schemes and deals that are too good to be true. The influence of this aspect will be over by Friday or Saturday.

Rahu  blocks the energy of the Sun and this can lead to an   expanded focus but can lead to feeling gloomy as Rahu sends his dark cloud over the Sun’s house. This may lead to frustration if expanded action is thwarted.    The  rebel may come out but  if there isn’t a good explanation for the changes there may be  arguments, getting into debt, lack of regard and fear of losing one’s freedom.

The health dangers with this expanded energy include leg ailments, liver complaints, nervousness, lung problems, and hip trouble. So, try to remain calm and practice meditation and other forms of stress relief.

It’s best to try to find activities to cheer your mood and do things that you enjoy. Seek out the company of good friends or lay low and keep your head down until the transit passes. Keep a positive attitude and be fair, knowing that this storm will pass, and the Sun will shine again by the weekend.

Mars moved into Satabhisha (Aquarius 6.40-20))  on Nov. 17th and we discussed that this weekend but will be exalted in the D-9/Navamsha pada of Capricorn Nov. 23-28th giving extra energy for shopping and athletes and hopefully taking that energy for humanitarian work which is what Aquarius want to suggest.

Neptune goes stationary direct on Nov. 24th  at 5:09 pm EST.  We will write more about this later in the week and the outer planets have more of an impact on global affairs and Neptune station at around 19 degrees Aquarius will impact countries and people most with planets at 19 Aquarius, 19 Taurus, 19 Le0 and 19 Scorpio.

Jupiter is conjunct the Sun on Nov. 25th at 10:30 pm EST creating a powerful sense of joy and optimism with the rare case if Cazimi when Jupiter moves into the heart of the Sun and is empowered by its Divine energy.   Should help last minute holiday shopping and internet shopping blitzes.

Saturn moves into the constellation of Purva Shadha on Nov. 27th  (Sag. 13.20-26.40) and finally leaves Mula (the Galactic Center) and that should lift spirits and get rid of the edgy intensity of the last month.  Still Mars is aspected by Saturn with a sneak sextile aspect on Nov. 27th and Saturn is aspecting its own sign so the aspect is intense for anger and frustration and dealing with delay so find patience if you are Aries or Scorpio rising as you will be most impacted by that aspect. We discussed it in our Saturday post.

Finally Mercury retrograde heads into a planetary war with Jupiter with the exact conjunction on Nov. 27th at 2:27 pm EST.  Mercury is considered the victor of the war which means Sag and Pisces rising have to watch out for health issue, over-spending and relationship conflicts.

Have a great week!

What critics are saying:  “Barry’ Poetic Tour de Force unveils lays of psychological wisdom that heals the troubled soul.–Jamie Bateman

The book is accessible for people who do not know much about astrology and is meant for a larger audience and only small parts of it are technical .

The deepest purpose of astrology should allow us to see the Maya or illusion that runs through our mind and blocks us from seeing our own Divinity. Astrology should reveal our hidden patterns and not just affirm what we know about our self already. It is our hidden patterns and blind spots which get us into the most trouble and cause us the most suffering. It takes courage to look at them, bring them into the light and transforms them but that is why we are on the planet. It is much like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day (1993). How many times do we have to repeat our lives and relive our pain or do we realize our flaws and actively work on them and transform ourselves into a more conscious and active and loving and compassionate person. In this brilliant collection of essays divided into 7 sections, Psychological and Emotional and Spiritual Dimensions of Vedic Astrology, Secrets of the Houses, Blind Spots. Spiritual Astrology, Relationship and Techniques, Barry reveals material beyond the ordinary in unveiling our True Self beyond the illusion.    The great spiritual teacher Yogananda was fond of saying that  most of what we call the spiritual battle is really a psychological battle and once that battle is won, the spiritual battle is a short one.  This book aims to support you in deep spiritual growth with profound psychological insight.

Barry’s spiritual and psychological approach to astrology seeks to cut the puppet strings of the planets that impact our emotions and psychology and bind us to self-blame, doubt and fear, and anger.  This useful guide will help you navigate your life.

What fellow astrologers are saying about last year’s edition:

“This almanac is truly a masterpiece and labor of love. Barry is a gifted astrologer and writer. I have written yearly forecasts for over 30 years and understand the work, knowledge and dedication involved. It is so complete with everything a beginner or advanced student of astrology would need. The references to the planet’s transit through the signs, nakshatras, aspects, dates and times, plus their interpretations is fantastic. He even covers the effects these will have on individual countries. I am sure I will be referring to this manual frequently throughout the year.”
