EYE ON THE SKY: MARS CONJUNCT KETU:  DEALING WITH ANGER

Mars has been in Sagittarius since Feb. 7th and is in the constellation of Mula (Sagittarius 0-13.20) which is know as the galactic center in Western Astrology.   It is moving toward the South Node, Ketu and their conjunction is exact on Feb. 22nd in the true node system and there is a 3 degree radius of intensity from Feb. 19-26th.    This is one of the more intense events of the year particularly because Mars is conjunct the eclipse point from the Dec. solar eclipse on Feb. 22nd and this can trigger major events in mundane astrology around terrorism, violence and rioting and war.  In fact Mars/Ketu conjunction is happening within a degree of when they were conjunct in Sagittarius 9-11-2001 when the trade towers went down. Not to worry as Jupiter is with Mars in Sagittarius providing protection for the US but also preventing any major catastrophe. Still something will erupt and be thwarted.

On a personal level, the connection between Mars and Ketu means that you cannot let anger be repressed or it will explode in a verbal or physical attack. Exercise is a good way to work of this energy but also just let it out by screaming in your empty house. Continue to be 100% focused when doing physical activity and driving as unexpressed anger can rear its ugly head. We have seen too many reports of accidents and injuries already. Stay alert, let the energy out and use to help others in need.  You need to focus on one thing at a time so if you driving or working with power tools or even walking up and down stairs so be 100% present and focuses in everything you do over the next two weeks.   The warrior pose in yoga is a good balance pose for activating the third eye nakshatra and alertness in activity.  Mars/Ketu conjunction will impact you most if you have that signature in your natal chart, if you have key planets at 7-10 degrees Sagittarius  and if you are Scorpio or Aries rising and if you are in  Mars/Ketu or Ketu /Mars period in your dashas.  Sagittarius rising will feel it strong but it is also an 8th house transit for Taurus rising and a 6th house transit for Cancer rising and a 12th house transit for Capricorn rising.    Remember you usually need a natal signature in your chart, a difficult dasha combination and a key transit to key planets in your chart to trigger something major so do not worry about stuff and if you have those combinations, see a professional astrologer to prescribe mantras and yagyas but just being on top of your meditation and yoga and chanting is often good enough. With Mars/Ketu combinations there can be   dangers from fire or electricity or surgery if you are running a Mars/Ketu or Ketu/Mars cycle and your ascendant is Taurus rising or Capricorn rising.  Still the transit will foster courage and boldnesss in politics and it might benefit Trump  others.   More truth will come out

On the positive side, for Aries rising and Scorpio rising, you will be most affected by this transit and it can increase intuition and for Aries rising, it can increase spirituality and a desire to go inward and withdraw from the world. If you do not have the luxury for long meditation courses or being a recluse, then you will have to get your active button in gear. So enjoy Ketu and Mula.   END OF PART 1

DEALING WITH ANGER FROM MARS/KETU:

If you watch small kids in a playground, they get angry, fully express it and then go back to being normal in five minutes.  Anger is a natural emotion that is often an expression of an unfulfilled desire.   Kids are great about it but we tend to repress our anger until it explodes and that is dangerous and can lead to violence and accidents fires and burns when it is not expressed.

Mars is within a few degrees of Ketu through the end of the month so  we are going to have to master the slow burn or get burned.    On the highest level Mars/Ketu conjunctions in Sagittarius can create frustration and tension around legal, political or religious activity   As we have said before, use the anger to do charity work and channel the energy into positive social service rather than raging at things that you cannot control.

This conjunction challenges us to be happy with our own power and leadership and this may be the case particularly among women so express it now if it comes up. This conjunction supports mathematics and engineering so time to go deep into invention mode.  For Scorpio and Aries rising, it will foster spiritual experience and intuition as Ketu is the most spiritual planet. Time for a meditation retreat or extra spiritual practice.  Other activity may be frustrating.

When poltical anger comes up write  letters, do posts on Facebook or call your Congressperson. In the extreme, this aspect can lead to accidents, fires, burns  and explosions if the energy is not released. Be careful around your home and while driving.  . Even if you are alert, others may not be.

The bright side of the conjunction of Mars is that is forcing us to face our unconscious fears and repressed angers and look at them and transform them.

Usually yoga and exercise are good to get things moving but be gentle on yourself as too much will increase the air element or vata and create more anxiety. Also just use the Nike slogan, “Just do it,” to get moving as Mars/Ketu can create very sluggish and lazy energy and its hard to get started.

Anyway, like Forrest Gump reminds us, life is a box of chocolates: there are some with sweet cream fillings and some with hard nuts that you have to chew carefully.  Express your emotions in a healthy manner and do not let the Ketu steal your winter  joy. Help others and donate to your favorite charities. So many in need.

Mula means “root” or “the center” and people who have a sun, moon or ascendent lord in this constellation are very direct and do not like to beat around the bush. This is the core of the galaxy and it is ruled by Ketu who wants to get to the core of everything: hidden motives, events, core roots. The 9/11 disaster occurred during the Ketu/Mars conjunction in this constellation. Hence it has a dreadful nature in bringing out the most explosive and darkest side of Ketu which means blowing up the material can point and force one to the spiritual. Adolf Hitler had Jupiter conjunct Ketu in the 3rd house in this nakshatra without any balancing influence from Saturn and he was the embodiment of destruction. Lets hope the terrorists are not emboldened in their quest during this transit but this was exactly what happened during 9/11.

Mula combines the energy of Jupiter and Ketu and hence it initiates spiritual transformations for the better. With Jupiter’s grace it can confer magical powers to help those in need with Grace. Mars is favorable placed in Sagittarius and this can lead to jumping on opportunities, expanded knowledge, wealth, leadership, and becoming a spiritual warrior for charitable causes.
