There are a number of positives settiing up on a subtle level this week.  The Sun gets out of Swati nakshatra and moves into Vishakha (Libra 20-Scoprio 3.20)  on Nov. 6th  connecting it to Jupiter were more optimism and confidence will arise. Saturn moves out of the 1st pada of Shravana (Carpricorn 10-13.20) ruled by Aries where it is more fearful and hurried and into the solid and steady Pada ruled by Taurus ( Capricorn 13.20-16.40) on the evening of Nov. 6th and that will hold until Dec. 22nd.  That pada is more supportive of business.  We have been feeling for a year that  sometime with Saturn in Capricorn, the infrastructure bill would be a no brainer as Capricorn is connected to infrastructure and building and it is badly needed in the US  and was passed Saturday.   The two minor transits should create more ease on the emotional landscape.   Upsetting the cosmos, is the Mars/ Mercury planetary war on Nov. 9-10 th in Libra.   Many think the planet with the higher longitude wins so Mars wins on the 9th and takes away energy from Mercury and Mercury wins on 10th.  In any case it is always messy.  Mercury is also squared by Saturn suggestion that miscommunications will lead to major fighting.  Saturn and Mars are also in a mutual square between Capricorn and Libra exact into Nov 10th and that is always fun for frustration, indecision and blocked energy to move forward.  Still the moon is again waxing into Nov. 19th where it will be exalted in Taurus and the emotional level will  be out of most of the depths of depression of the darkest night of the year with the New Moon in Libra connected to the holiday of Diwali.

More details below in 3 parts below:  Sun in Vishakha, Mars square Saturn and Mars conjunct Mercury.

Sun transits  into the constellation of Vishaka,  Nov. 6th   and will stay there until Nov. 19th th.  (20.00 Libra-3.20 Scorpio). The constellations  is ruled by Agni and Indra and is a constellation of four stars forming the left half of the scales of Libra.  Agni has the ability to do Herculean talks to achieve its goals with great fiery energy and courage. Indra provides leadership but may create danger for those around one but may act cowardly at the first sign of danger.  People born with this constellation (ie, Sun, Moon, Rising sign or atmakaraka) are often seeking a bit of power and status and position.

The first section of this constellation (Libra 20-23.20 ruled by Aries) Nov. 7-10th  will foster strong new action to achieve one’s goals and give a new spurt of energy to a troubled month and it it great to get Sun out of Swati nakshatra where it has the ugly pull of Rahu, the North Node.  I always breathe a sigh of relief when this develops.  The Sun gives impetus for new material achievement the first 10 days of the transit and then when it goes into Scorpio on  there is a renewal for more spiritual energy in Pada 4 connected to Cancer in the D9.

Prash Trivedi notes that with  the frequency of unwholesome goals, it is a concern for handling vices and people born in this constellation call easily fall prey to alcohol, drugs and sex.  In essence, the Jupiter/Venus combination can bring in Vishakha natives have an urge to throng the local bar and to engage in the sensual and material energies of life.  There may be  love parties but this may lead to a sense of emptiness in their lives which ideally should lead to searching for deeper spiritual meaning. Those born in this constellation in the fourth pada (Scorpio 0-3.20) connected to Cancer will have a stronger spiritual drive to overcome vices.

MARS/SATURN MUTUAL SQUARE–Nov 10th  exact ; range of influence Nov. 6-13th.

Mars continues in Libra   and moves toward an exact mutual square (90/270 degree) with Saturn in Capricorn. .  The impact of this transit will be felt from now until Nov. 15th.    Saturn is a bit stronger now in Capricorn   but it is always a difficult aspect.  It can bring out more recklessness and be more  more intensity  than usual. I am ruled by Mars and I have had a number of minor injuries during that aspect in the past.

It reminds me of my favorite police drama from the early 80’s, Hill Street Blues where the morning sergeant always ends the meetings with “You all be safe out there, ya hear.”   So slow down and do not be reckless this week to prevent accidents.  Watch Saturdays and Tuesdays, ruled by Mars and Saturn over the next two weeks  most and if you are running a Mars or Saturn period or have a Mars/Saturn aspect in your chart or if you are Libra or Aries or Scorpio or Aquarius  Rising.

The tendency is for anger and frustration to bubble up and you may snap at people. Resentment may flow through the mind. Delays and obstacles and indecision may bubble up. You will probably see more accidents and fires and terrorism in the news.

On a personal level, you have to proceed slowly and cautiously and perform all your tasks with care. You may find your efforts to assert yourself lead to irritation and frustration.   Fear may bubble up and block you from moving forward so do the frog pose in yoga and remember the Nike motto: “Just do it.”

If you are ruled by Aries or Scorpio, you may feel your inadequacies come up and be overwhelmed by your inner fears.  Authority figures like bosses and fathers may discourage you.  The purpose of this transit is to move forward in your life regardless of heckling and what other think and rely on your own true sense of purpose.   Watch out for anger and irritation and find a way to release it with exercise or just screaming at the top of your lungs in your car or an empty house when no one is looking.

Hanuman is a remedy for Saturn and supports Mars so listening to Hanuman Chaliesa  (many versions on You Tube) will be supportive.  Stay on top of your meditation and yoga and spiritual practices to stay even and grounded. Go easier and slower and be more patient and aware to avoid accidents and angry flare-ups. Give  people the benefit of mistakes that happen and be forgiving rather than fly off the handle. This is a 10 day  period to practice mindfulness and observe what is happening in the mind and body and to stay balanced and not over-react. Find away to laugh at situations and practice patience. If you do not stay on top of sleep, if you indulge in bad habits that are not good for you, if you are not mindful, it may seem rough and frustrating.

Part 3:

We get the third pass of the Mars/Mercury planetary war with Mars winning on Tuesday, Nov. 9th and Mercury winning on Nov. 10thWednesday,  with the exact conjunction on Wednesday, Nov. 10th at 7:57 am   Eastern time.   Mars and Mercury are bitter enemies in conjunction because Mercury needs to win through the intellect and Mars is too action-orientated to win a war of words.   The two create squabbling and irritation and it will be felt particularly by Gemini and Virgo rising and Aries and Scorpio rising.   If you do not find a way to release anger and conflict, it could spill over into accidents and fires, and wounds and cuts.

We need to model ourselves after kids.  They get angry, they let out their aggression and they may even get into a fight with another kid but then it’s over and they move on and they do not hold onto it.  As adults, we have been taught that fighting and aggression is bad and we repress it.  Find a way to get to let go of your anger in a positive way.  Scream at the top of your lungs in an empty car or house; take a baseball bat and pound a pillow;  do some exercise or engage in a competitive sport; do some service work and help veterans on a Tuesday or donate to their charities.

When we feel victimized and do not express or act then accidents happen so we can gain sympathy for frustration.  Do not let it get that far.  Find a way to get it out and release it before it gets dangerous.  Aries, Scorpios, Geminis, and Virgos are most vulnerable through the next few days and on days like Wednesday which is ruled by Mercury and Tuesday ruled by Mars.  Libra/Aries  rising also seem vulnerable with the planets on that axis.   We also have to worry about the world as world leaders can get into angry shouting matches with this energy.

Virgo and Gemini rising particularly need to be careful about accidents and injuries but you would also have to have a Mars/Mercury natal signature in your chart and it would be more serious if you are in a Mars/Mercury or Mercury/Mars period or running a Virgo dasha.   Mercury is winning the planetary war with Mars,  Wednesday morning and then maybe less so after the exact conjunction so a good few days to hunker down if you are in a Mars/Mercury or Mercury/Mars period and Aries and Scorpio seem particularly vulnerable so drive carefully on Wednesday.

The combination of Mercury and Mars can bring up disputes and arguments so remember not to argue in the car and pullover if something starts and drive carefully and watch out for the other guy Nov. 9-10th  During the most intense part of that transit.  Drive carefully. Be alert for the other guy.

Mars/Mercury causes us to get caught up thinking in our head and hashing over things that people have said and that prevents us from being alert (Mars) and then problems happen.  So focus on one thing at a time. If you are driving, do not talk on your cell phone and multi-task. Stay focused.  If you are exercising or in physical activity, be 100 percent. If you work with power tools, focus entirely on what you are doing in a Zen sort of way.

Mars-related yoga postures can be helpful for developing alertness so doing the Warrior Pose will help and the frog pose will help with low energy from the Sun’s combustion to Mars which also officially starts August 17th but will really not be a problem until late September and early October.     Shoulder stands will support Mercury and calm the over-active mind.

So, you all be careful out there as the Sargent in Hill Street Blues used to stay!

Have a great day.
