MARS/ KETU IN A 6/8 RELATIONSHIP–EXACT ON JAN. 24TH

EYE ON THE SKY: MARS 150 DEGREES TO  KETU—TAURUS TO LIBRA 14 DEGREES

Mars has an 6/8 house aspect to Ketu from Taurus to Libra which is exact on Tuesday, Jan. 24th but there is a three-degree influence into the first week of Feb.  The signature of Mars/Ketu associations is seething anger.

While this is not a traditional Vedic aspect, I find that exact degrees between two planets can have a key influence. Moreover, in Jaimini Astrology, if this were a natal chart,  Taurus and Libra have Rashi Drishti or sign aspects on  each other.

If you watch small kids in a playground, they get angry, fully express it and then go back to being normal in five minutes.  Anger is a natural emotion that is often an expression of an unfulfilled desire.   Kids are great about it but we tend to repress our anger until it explodes and that is dangerous and can lead to violence and accidents fires and burns when it is not expressed. There have been too many mass shootings the last few days to think that this aspect is not significant.  Very tragic.

Mars is aspecting  Ketu within 3 degrees through the first week of Feb. We are going to have to master the slow burn or get burned.    On the highest level, Mars/Ketu conjunctions can create frustration around family and money, and relationships with the Taurus/Libra axis.   Sometimes we have too much energy and try to bowl through tasks too quickly.  As we have said before, use the anger to do charity work and channel the energy into positive social service rather than raging at things that you cannot control.

We have been seeing a lot of social unrest and demonstrations in the world—particularly in Peru and France and Germany.  This is an expression of seething anger wanting to release.   Angry shooters are another manifestation and we have to be careful around fire with Mars/Ketu and make sure that we do not create fire hazards around us or be too spaced out to notice a fire hazard.  Be alert.

Ketu is that funny mystical guy, the South Node that pulls us toward spirituality and he is a bit out of balance in the business sign of Taurus and its aspect to Libra another business sign. This can bring up angry explosions at work.

This aspect may create a loss of equilibrium, getting irritated quickly, getting criticized quickly by others, and blocking anger. The key is to find ways to let the anger out with exercise or just screaming in an empty room or car.

Overall, this aspect is very difficult for the planet and is a signature of violence and terrorism.

If you are angry at politicians, find another way to express your feelings in a positive way. Write letters, do posts on Facebook or call your Congressperson. In the extreme, this aspect can lead to accidents, fires, burns, and explosions if the energy is not released. Be careful around your home and while driving around those key dates through the 2nd week of Feb if you are running a Mars /Ketu or Ketu/Mars period as the combination of the dash and transit at the same time can trigger a major event. Even if you are alert, others may not be as aware or mentally present at the moment. If you have key planets at 12-16 Taurus or Libra, you may particularly fell the impact.

The bright side of the conjunction of Mars/Ketu is that it forces us to face our unconscious fears and repressed anger so we can look at them and transform them.

Taurus and Libra and Scorpios and Aries will feel the impact of most of this brief aspect.  They need to find an outlet to unlock pent-up anger or it will explode. Exercise and healthy competition is one way to let off steam.

This aspect challenges us to be happy with our power and leadership and this may be the case, particularly among women so express it now if it comes up. This transit supports mathematics and engineering so time to go deep into invention mode.

Usually, yoga and exercise are good to get things moving but be gentle on yourself as too much will increase the air element or Vata and create more anxiety. Also just use the Nike slogan, “Just do it,”

Anyway, Forrest Gump reminds us, life is a box of chocolates: there are some with sweet cream fillings and some with hard nuts that you have to chew carefully.  Healthily express your emotions and do not let Mars/ Ketu steal your joy. Help others and donate to your favorite charities. So many are in need.
