POINTS OF WEALTH – LUCK OF THE YOGI AND THE YOGI POINT

EYE ON FINANCIAL ASTROLOGY: THE YOGI POINT

The Yogi Point reveals a hidden source of prosperity and luck in your chart and is connected to the daily relationship between the Sun and the Moon. It is tied to the daily Panchanga. Each day, as the Sun and Moon move away from one another, they create a Nitya Yoga.
Think of a pair of scissors—completely closed during the new moon, gradually opening as the Sun and Moon approach the full moon at 180 degrees, then slowly closing again during the waning phase. The various angles of the scissors create key energy influences for your personal chart and daily timing for Muhurthas.
There are 27 Nitya Yogas, counted from Pushya and associated with the 27 Nakshatras. Nitya Yoga 1 is called Vishkumbha and is linked to the Nakshatra Pushya. Nitya Yoga 2 is Preeti, connected to the constellation Ashlesha, with Mercury as the Yogi planet. Certain Nitya Yogas, such as numbers 6, 9, 10, 13, 17, and 27, are more emotionally and psychologically challenging. These are often inauspicious days for launching major undertakings and tend to be stressful. Consult your daily Panchanga for details.
The exact degree of the Nitya Yoga becomes the Yogi Point. Most Jyotish software can calculate this. The ruler of the Nakshatra of the Yogi planet becomes a “good luck” planet, and the ruler of the sign where the Yogi Point resides acts as a secondary or “duplicate Yogi” influence. The Nakshatra six places from the Yogi Point becomes the “Avayogi”—a bad luck point.
Benefic planets transiting over your Yogi Point can bring substantial material success. Slow-moving transits, like Jupiter’s twelve-year cycle, may offer extended periods of prosperity when passing through the auspicious Nakshatra of the Yogi Point, while quicker transits may result in shorter bursts of gain. The house containing your Yogi Point will likely benefit. My own Yogi Point is in Aquarius, in my 4th house, and I’ve consistently experienced good fortune with real estate, homes, and vehicles.
The Avayogi—the sixth Nakshatra from the Yogi Nakshatra—can signify financial difficulties, and planets owning it or operating during its cycles may bring challenges.
I’ve seen investor clients experience significant financial success when Jupiter transited over their Yogi Point and its Nakshatra, then retrograded back through it. This was further supported by favorable Dasha indicators.
The duplicate Yogi is the sign occupied by the Yogi planet. It can also produce positive results. In relationship compatibility, if your partner’s ascendant ruler is your Yogi planet, the relationship is blessed with good fortune. Conversely, if it is the Avayogi planet (the owner of the 6th Nakshatra from the Yogi), it may bring pain, debt, and incompatibility. Having your rising sign ruled by the Yogi planet is considered a great blessing.
