VENUS IN LEO SEPT 14-OCT 9TH

EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS IN LEO (Sept. 14–Oct. 9)

Venus enters Leo on Sunday, Sept. 14, and remains there until Oct. 9. The transit grows more intense toward the end as Venus approaches a conjunction with Ketu, most active Oct. 2–7.

Crossing the Gandanta: From Cancer to Leo

As Venus leaves the end of Cancer, it passes through the gandanta—the emotionally knotted junction between a water sign (Cancer) and a fire sign (Leo). This threshold often asks us to release stale attachments so the leonine fire can move forward, create, and express. Expect an uptick in passion and visibility that favors artists, performers, designers, and anyone working with beauty and luxury.

Venus in Magha (Leo 0°–13°20′): Sept. 14–26

Magha can amplify ambition, status-seeking, and desire for recognition. There can be an early high from praise or achievement followed by a let-down if attention fades, so watch for ego swings and overreach.

Venus in Purva Phalguni (approx. Sept. 26–Oct. 6)

In its own nakshatra, Venus heightens sensuality, romance, and creativity. The same energy can tip into self-criticism about appearance or an obsessive need to be “perfect.” Purva Phalguni is also associated with fertility and conception; if other timing factors in your chart are supportive, this window can help.  Ketu’s transit in that nakshatra may not be supportive unless your natal chart has strong energies to overcome it.

As Venus nears Ketu (Oct. 2–7), Venus-ruled signs—Libra and Taurus—may experience relationship dissatisfaction, sudden withdrawal, irritability, or (for some women) temporary gynecological sensitivities. Build in extra space, keep communications clear, and lean on cooling and grounding routines.

The Performer’s Signature—and Its Shadow

Venus in Leo is classic “spotlight” astrology—wonderful for performance, launches, exhibitions, and romance. The shadow is attention hunger that can lead to disappointment if applause doesn’t last. With Saturn’s aspect to Leo during this period, expect stricter standards and sharper public critique—think more tabloid chatter and industry scrutiny.

Looking Ahead

Venus enters Virgo on Oct. 9, bringing a more discerning, service-oriented tone. Libra rising natives may want extra rest then, and all signs should watch over-critical tendencies in relationships as Venus moves through its sign of debilitation.
