RERUN PART 3: MARS CONJUNCT KETU AGAIN SEPT. 11-OCT 7TH

Applied Vedic Astrology - Dancing Candles

EYE ON THE SKY:  MARS IN CAPRICORN WITH KETU

In the mean node system Ketu moves within 5 degrees of Mars again Sept. 11 and is conjunct into Sept.  22nd. This is the third time around with the first direct movement happening in early June and the 2nd pass peaking into July 17th.   The True node conjunction is Sept. 26th.  They are probably not far enough apart until after Oct 7th.  We have pointed out exercise, releasing bottled anger and staying away from spicy food and favoring cooling foods and coconut water are important to stay on top of as well staying on top of yoga and meditation. Here is a guide again based on your moon or rising sign. In many ways this year’s Mars/Ketu energy is  much easier then next year’s Saturn/Ketu conjunction which will impact us from March-Nov. 2019...

RERUN: KALA SARPA YOGA IN TRANSIT SEPT. 7-20–TOO MUCH FIRE POWER

EYE ON ASTROLOGY: KALA SARPA YOGA IN TRANSIT

Kala Sarpa yoga is  when Rahu and Ketu contain all the planets between them inclusively in the zodiac but a single planet going out of the axis, negates it.   So between  Sept. 7 and Sept  20th, all the planets are hemmed in between Rahu in Cancer  and Ketu in Capricorn.  When  the Mars   crosses beyond Ketu after Sept. 26th in the True Node system we will be totally free from the snake this year.   This yoga is broken current when the Moon moves past Ketu in Capricorn at around 9 degrees early on the 20th of Sept.    While not normally included, Pluto and Neptune are also part of this combination and only Uranus in Aries  is out of the snake’s biting its own tail.

Some schools of Jyotish scholars think that if all the planets are ...

KETU IN UTTARA ASHADA NAKSHATRA: AUGUST 30-MAY 8 DEEP SPIRITUAL LESSONS

EYE ON THE SKY: KETU IN UTTARA ASHADHA (SAGITTARIUS 26.40-CAPRICORN 10)

Ketu moved retrograde into the constellation of Uttara Ashadha on August 30th in the mean node system and stays there until May 8th.  The Shakti of this constellation ruled by the Sun is to give unchallenged victory and tends to give a humanitarian vision of seeing all races as equal. It consists of two stars in the breast of the archer in Sagittarius and extends into Capricorn and embodies the spirit of victory over the lower nature and expression of the higher one and is a very spiritual energy that is connected to unfolding new talents on the spiritual journey inward.

Ketu is friends with the Sun and is on good terms with this energy but the nature of Capricorn and the material world still puts its at odds with try...

ASTROLOGICAL WEATHER FORECAST SEPT. 3-19TH–BIG SHIFTS AND THE END OF THE SUMMER

EYE ON THE SKY: ASTROLOGICAL WEATHER FORECAST FOR EARLY SEPTEMBER

We have a lot to be grateful for with Venus in Libra now and Mercury into Leo and out of Ashlesha nakshatra and Mars direct and Saturn going direct on Sept. 6th.  These have all been covered in great deal on our Astro Blog at www.appliedvedicastrology.com. We would expect that things should be moving better for you as the dog days of summer ends.  The node have also moved into  better positions with Rahu in Pada 2 of Pushya where it is supporting material expansion and Ketu in Pisces navamsha and Pada 4 of Uttarshadha, where it is supporting spiritual growth.   Rahu and Ketu will require whole articles later in the week.

The most challenging event coming up is a return of the Kala Sarpa Yoga where all planets are hemme...

VENUS AND JUPITER TOGETHER IN LIBRA–NEW BEGINNINGS OF LOVE

EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS AND JUPITER IN LIBRA

We have written about Venus in Libra  (see :  https://www.appliedvedicastrology.com/2018/08/17/fall-preview-venus-in-libra-sept-2-2018-jan-2-2019/ ) which lasts an amazing 4 months (instead of 1) due to its retrograde movement in Libra starting on Oct 5th  as it moves in there for 4 months but it will be in the same sign as Jupiter until Jupiter goes into Scorpio in mid-October.  Although they will remain on opposite side of the zodiac in different constellations, their powerful energies will be felt together lightening some of the intensity from the summer.

On a Mundane astrological level this combination will be good for peace in the world and so maybe progress with North Korea will have a sudden resolution despite last week’s rumblings that ...

KRISHNA’S BIRTHDAY–SEPT 2nd –AWAKENING TO DEVOTION AND LOVE

EYE ON VEDIC HOLIDAYS: KRISHNA’S BIRTHDAY, SEPT. 3RD.

In Vedic astrology those connected to Taurus and the constellation of Rohini have a special connection to Lord Krishna.  In the US,  the moon goes into Rohini on Sept. 2nd and continues into part of Sept. 3rd enlivening those deep qualities of solid love and devotion and Krishna embodies.  Enjoy the blessings of moon in Taurus the next few days. This marks Krishna’s birthday which is widely celebrated.

The great humanitarian and spiritual teacher, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar wrote a great explanation of the deep meaning of Krishna and the symbolism of his birth and I am reprinting it below:

“India would not be India if you take away Lord Krishna and the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. These epics are like the two eyes of our country...

MERCURY ON THE EDGE AND MOVING FROM CANCER TO LEO SEPT 1-18THH

MERCURY AT THE END OF CANCER  and into LEO:.

Mercury stays in the gandanta or trouble knotted-area  (Cancer 27-29.59),  September 1 – 2nd in the constellation of Ashlesha where one has to watch out for one’s sharp tongue or one will make many enemies.  It can increase negative thinking if you let your mind run toward the negative so you have to not get gripped by dwelling on the negative and getting into the pity party or it will bring you down and everyone else if you start complaining.  Do your gratitude exercises  and find a way to appreciate all that you have in your life and not go into the wormhole negative spiral.

The Gandanta area (Cancer 27-29.59) and particularly the last 40 minute of the sign (29.20-29.59) (Sept...

NEW LIGHT ON DEBILITATED PLANETS PART 2: SATURN, MERCURY AND THE SUN

EYE ON ASTROLOGY:  FOCUS ON DEBILITATED PLANETS PART 2

In Part 1, we discussed how debilitated planets force us to learn lessons around the values of those planets and that we have to work 3 times as hard to make those issues work.   Still sometimes, if we have a debilitated planet, it may help us and create  challenges that  becomes are greatest asset. If we work hard on the things that we are not good with then sometimes we can excel at them.  This may show up if the planet is debilitated in the D-1 chart but strong in the D-9 chart.  Maybe after 35-40 years we have learned to master the energy and sometimes we do not.

Again in looking at debilitated planets, one has to also consider what houses they own and if they are good planets for the chart and if they are natural benefics ...

NEW LIGHT ON DEBILITATED PLANETS PART 1–WORKING HARDER AND HUMILITY

EYE ON ASTROLOGY:  FOCUS ON DEBILITATED PLANETS

When the astrologers uses the word “debilitated”, their clients often cringe. Its one of the words we need to take out of our vocabulary. It really means that we have to work 3 times as hard to get results out of that planet and that we have to go to remedial classes to learn the rules of the planet.   It does not mean that we are doomed to the dungeon.  Karmically a debilitated planet means we may not have learned the deep archetypal lessons of that planet so a debilitated Venus in Virgo means we need extra work to do on relationships or a debilitated Sun means we have extra work to do on confidence.

Komilla Sutton talking on the subject says:

It is also an area of life that has been overused or abused in a previous life, now it has to b...

BLINDS SPOTS BY RISING SIGN PART 2: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

HIDDEN FLAWS BY RISING SIGN: THE ACHILLES HEEL

There are  inherent flaws or Achilles heels for certain rising signs based on the houses which it owns.  The more complex rising signs that are owned by Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn have Achilles heels or life-long issues. These are Gemini, Virgo (Mercury), Capricorn and Aquarius (owned by Saturn) and Sagittarius and Pisces (owned by Jupiter).  Libra owned by Venus also comes into this group. There are core life-lessons associated for these signs due to the placement of key planets for their signs and the houses they own.

Often this is related to ownership of the 6th or 12th houses but sometimes the 7th houses is also involved so the relevant issues are challenges around habits, sacrifices and relationship...
