EYE ON THE SKY: SUN CONJUNCT RAHU
The Sun is considered afflicted when it is within 3 degrees of Rahu and so that is the case July 25-July 31st in the sign of Cancer. In the Western world this may not be considered a bad thing because the conjunction promotes expanding your power and success at the cost of your Divinity. This can lead to attention and even minor fame but the negative side is also enhanced with too much ambition and selfishness and rigidity of ideas.  Inside you may fear failure. This conjunction can promote deeper relationships with foreigners or immigrants and with the affliction, you reputation may be hurt so for Leo rising, possible that a foreign person may harm your reputation or create scandal. The key may be not reaching to high in sky so that your wings do not melt and you do not fall to the earth.
The Sun is in Pushya nakshatra where it’s Divine energy is challenged by materialistic desires of comfort and relationship.  This creates uneasiness as the Sun always desires realization of the soul. The movement here is the start of the Sun’s southerly course through the sky (Dakshinayana) where it is starting to lose some of its power. Usually between know and the Sun moving into Capricorn, it is not good to start a new business because the Sun is starting its waning phase on the year kind of like a moon waning after it is full. Leos are particularly vulnerable with the Sun 12 houses from its home and have to watch the eclipse energy on Friday.
As always meditation and yoga are key to get through. The Sun is connected to Shiva so Shiva Rudram on Mondays and Thursday will be powerful and helpful and chanting Om Namah Shiva is always helpful. We will republish our eclipse article later.
