SATURN SQUARE URANUS IN TRANSIT AND IN YOUR NATAL CHART

SATURN SQUARE URANUS AND PERSONAL ASTROLOGY

In Part 1 we talked about the Saturn/Uranus square in mundane astrology but my experience is that if you a have key outer planet signature of two degrees in your natal chart it is very significant.  If in  transit, a transiting outer  planet aspects or interacts with a key natal planet in your chart within a few degrees it can also be very  impactful.

We have noted many times that even thought the outer planets are not part of ancient Vedic astrology as they were not discovered, there are writings on palm leaves in an museum in Chennai (formerly Madras) that predict the coming of the outer planets and Narendra Desai had done copious research on these ancient palm leaves.

Neo-Vedic astrologer,Dennis Harness, notes that Uranus is connected to Vedic mythology:

” Prajapati is the lord of progeny and creativity. He “exerts his heat and duplicates himself” and his “divine voice sounds like thunder”.  One of the translations of Prajapati is Indra, the lord of thunder and lightning. A similarity to the planet Uranus can easily be seen. Uranus represents the Prometheus myth of bringing fire to earth, the bringer of change and innovation. Uranus is often associated with heat, lightning and thunder. He was also the father of Venus, the goddess of creativity. Narendra Desai felt that Uranus was a higher octave of Mercury, the god of creative intellect. He said that a prominent Uranus was often seen in the chart of a good astrologer.”

Uranus tends to be very connected to Aquarius and to Rahu energy which is independent, rebellious, inventive and very creative.

The waning square between Saturn and Uranus will become exact on February 17, 2021 at 12 degrees Capricorn to 12 degrees Aries and , then again on June 14, 2021 at 18 degrees Capricorn to 18 Aries  and for a final time on December 24, 2021 at 17 degrees Capricorn to 17 degrees of Aries.

In transit, Saturn/Uranus squares can be very upsetting and tense if you are stuck in rigid patterns and the energy may force you to break out of the box and do things differently.   Still your desire to change your patterns and habits may be thwarted by others who may be controlling. You may explode and break out of the box if you can move beyond your fears or worries about how you show up.

The key is to make creative changes without being too destructive and get into angry outbursts. Uranus is still in Aries and with Mars so angry tirades and explosions are very possible.   Possible that relationships could break up during this time period and Venus is Capricorn is rather crowded with Pluto, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and getting aspected by Rahu so you are going to have work it out and be flexible.

Work could also be impacted if you feel stuck and need new stimulation and you might be suddenly prone to explode and quit your job or get fired.  Be aware of the energies so that you do not make rash decisions.  Bosses and authority figures may seem more oppressive than normal.

The problem is that the Saturn/Uranus square is operating much of the year because both planets stay within 12-19 degrees Capricorn and Aries much of the year and the retrogrades also then impact the situation.

NATAL CHART PERSONALITY TRAITS:

If you were born between Dec. 1950-Oct 1953 or July 1975-June 1977 or  May 1999-Dec. 2000, then there is a good chance you have a Saturn/Uranus square in your natal chart.   The transit will more likely trigger that natal signature in your chart.

  • The qualities that manifest are being prone to extremes of feeling and having extreme reactions and prone to tensions escalating
  • Being indecisive and rebellious and finding decisions rather complicate.
  • Being frequently irritable
  • Very interested in inventions and understanding how things work and having good mathematical abilities.

People born with this signature tend to struggle with being either too controlling or being too rebellious and are considered eccentric but still extremely progressive in one’s thinking.   It is important to break traditions and customs and one thrives on breaking rules and regulations.  There may be a tendency to be rigid or inflexible and argumentative and dislike people who do not have the same opinions and beliefs.   There can be a tendency toward stubborness and egotism and there is a tendency to have difficulty with relationships.  Famous people born with this aspect include Dan Rather and Karl Marx and give the rise of Marxism in our society, it the aspect in transit is likely to continue to increase these energies.

Special thanks to James Braha and Robert Hand for their insights on this configuration.
