A GUIDE TO RAHU/KETU: GOING THROUGH THE HOUSES FOR ARIES/LIBRA
The transits of the nodes, which move every 1.5 years, are a big event as new areas of our life our influenced for 1.5 years and sometimes 3 years because Rahu has a 30 degree aspect on the sign next to it. Below is a guide to interpreting the transit by your rising sign or moon sign.
A Guide for Interpretation:
- Transits are always secondary to dashas. If you are in Rahu or Ketu period or sub-period, the transit will have more of an impact.
- Rahu enters Aries and Ketu enters Libra on March 16th in the True Node system and April 12th in the Mean Node System. True nodes may be felt more in transit. Their impact on a new house is often felt immediately with new issues that come up and changes from the past 1.5. Because Rahu has a 30 degree aspect on the house next to it, it tends to have a 3 year impact and the issues from Rahu in Taurus will not go away for a 1.5 but issues from Rahu in Gemini will finally start to disappear.
- Transits are calculated from the moon and the ascendant and the moon may be more of a mental/emotional influence while transits from the ascendant may impact you more physically.
- The natal planets you have in your natal chart will influence the transit. If you have natal malefic like Rahu, Ketu, Saturn or Mars in Libra or Aries, the nodes interacting with them within 2-3 degrees will be intense while natural benefics like Jupiter, Venus and Mercury in Aries or Libra will soften the impact. Jupiter can particularly lessen the impact of a negative nodal transit.
- A temporary influence may be felt in a negative way if a transiting malefic like Mars aspects or transit Aries or Libra. Saturn in Capricorn in transit is aspecting Libra until April 26th and then again in retrograde motion from July -Dec 2022. Mars will be transiting Aries in July and August and will have a strong influence on Rahu during that time.
- Ketu is headless and it is thought not to aspect because it has no desire. Rahu is full of desire and it aspects the 2nd 5th and 9th from itself and has the most influence on the new sign it moves into. See the guide by rising and moon sign below.

If Rahu is unafflicted in transit or in your natal chart with no malefic associations from Saturn, Ketu or Mars then this is a time to purify your system, get your affairs in order and get clearer about your life. Use this time for self-improvement, business relationships with foreign companies and get rid of toxic relationships. Rahu in transit could make you more charismatic, allowing you to be a leader and attract followers, which might grant some temporary fame.
If Rahu is afflicted in transits by malefic associations with natal planets like Saturn, Mars and Ketu then you might be subject to toxins, pollutants, chemical or hormonal changes and it will be important to do regular detox diets. You will have to defend your status and position from others who might snipe at you and try to bring you down. The air element or Vata will dominate so you will need to eat cold and dry foods and focus on calming and unctuous foods and drink calming herbal teas to ground you. Exercise, meditation and yoga will be necessary as Rahu in Aries wants to move too much and calming yoga or tai chi may center you.

Your romantic partner may need support and your challenge will be to be there with devotion.
If Ketu is afflicted in transits by malefic associations with natal planets like Saturn and Mars and the Sun, then you will be wanting to change business relationships and consider breaking up with your partner if you are dissatisfied. Avoid flying off the handle and throwing out the baby with the bathwater. You will be prone to want to do more travel in search of deep spirituality and truth but if it is not planned carefully, it could lead to aimless wandering with no direction.
TAURUS RISING OR MOON:
Rahu Transiting:12th House
Ketu Transiting: 6th House
If Rahu is unafflicted in transit or in your natal chart with no malefic associations from Saturn, Ketu or Mars, then this a good time for a foreign trip or spiritual pilgrimage or an outing in the mountains. Donate to charity, good causes and do service work but avoid overworking.
If Rahu is afflicted in transit or in your natal chart with malefic associations from Saturn, Ketu or Mars, then you may develop sleep problems because the Vata or air element will be over activated so be quiet in the evening and don’t do heavy aerobic exercise or watch violent action movies before you go to sleep. Avoid eating late. You may develop difficult-to-diagnose ailments and you will have to seek alternative practitioners to find an answer. You may have trouble being grounded or develop foot problems and feel psychologically unsettled. It will be an important time to turn to spirituality, meditation and yoga. Avoid sexual addiction as Rahu transiting through the twelfth house can unearth psychological complexes related to fear, worry and paranoia. Remember that the things that you are worrying about are illusionary and 99% of the things we worry about do not happen.

If Rahu is unafflicted in transit or in your natal chart or positively impacted by benefics like Jupiter, Mercury and Venus, then this transit could bring in powerful new friends and new group associations. There could be monetary windfalls or bonuses but be careful how you invest money at this time with Ketu transiting through the fifth house of speculation and investment. Use this transit to support groups and humanitarian organizations. You could have beneficial relationships with older siblings or unexpected money could come from the Southwest direction. Find new mentors to lead you to positive growth.
If Rahu is afflicted in transit or in your natal chart or positively impacted by malefics like Saturn, Mars, Ketu and the Sun, then this transit could lead to connections with swindler or con-artists that present things that are too good to be true. If Rahu is unaffected in transit or in your natal chart or positively impacted by benefits like Jupiter, Mercury and Venus, then this transit could bring in promotions in career, being seen more, more status, learning unusual skills, success with foreign countries. You may even expect some gain from cordial relationship with people of distinction. You are also likely to get new opportunities in your work front, which would give you higher responsibilities and more freedom. Rahu in the tenth house can produce major changes in your career. You may change jobs, receive a promotion or decide to do something entirely different. Your company could be bought out and an entire new management team could be put into place. This area of life will be a major focus for this entire time.

Continue your growth as a perpetual student. If you already know your spiritual path, then go deeper with it. If you have not found your path, then you will be on a definite quest. Overall, this is a time to revamp and solidifying your whole belief system. Rahu will aspect Leo so it can lead to charismatic leadership but if afflicted it could lead to poor leadership and self-aggrandizement.

Profits in business with business partners may happen and there may be new opportunities for foreign travel for business overseas. You could meet someone new or decide to put more energy into a current relationship. If you do meet someone new, then they will be very different from the people that you are usually attracted to. They could be from a foreign country or a different culture from yours.
During this period, Rahu will move through your seventh house from the Moon. This brings fatigue and worry for you. Rahu is transiting the fifth house, this house is the house of the mind and one of the Dharma houses. It is also the house of Poorvapunya (previous good deeds from past lives) and this transit could unlock the rewards depending on whether you have been naughty or nice. Single Aries will have more opportunities for meeting new dating prospects. There will be more passion and romance during this transit. CAPRICORN RISING OR MOON:
Rahu Transiting: 4th House
Ketu Transiting: 10th House
If you have no malefics like Saturn, Rahu, Ketu or Mars in Aries or aspecting Aries, then the Rahu transit will be a time to learn about foreign people and customs, travel to the Southwest, or engage in buying a new home or residence or vehicle. You may suddenly feel unhappy in your course of work with Ketu transiting your tenth and desire a change at work or take up non-traditional “out of the box” work.
If Libra is afflicted in your natal chart, with the Rahu transit you may have to deal with toxins in your home like mold, insects, infestation, or you may have emotional challenges with your mother or she may be prone to illness.
Ketu transiting the tenth house could positively spur you to do good reorganization at work but if there are afflictions to Ketu, you could feel fragmented and disconnected at work and your reputation could diminish. . You may feel unhappy about your course of work with Ketu Transiting your 10th and desire to make a change at work can happy or a desire to move into a non-traditional out of the box work environment. Ketu has dig bala or dignity in the 10th and its possible that you will have achievements at work but go unnoticed or unacknowledged.
AQUARIUS RISING OR MOON:
Rahu Transiting: 3rd House
Ketu Transiting: 9th House
If your third house is not afflicted by malefics in transit or in your natal chart, then the third house transits of Rahu will support you physically, make you feel stronger and create more determination and courage to make changes in your life. It will foster creativity for writing projects or artistic development. You might take up Toastmasters and do more public speaking and be drawn to spiritual journeys and short-trips.
If your ninth house is unafflicted in transit or in your natal chart, then Ketu transiting there might lead to a deep spiritual, philosophical or religious breakthrough and foreign travel could be beneficial. It is a good time to write the big philosophical and spiritual tome and get it published!
If Aries is afflicted in your natal chart or transit, then Rahu might create a misunderstanding with younger siblings, or develop moodiness, which could be alleviated by writing or creative activities.
Ketu transiting through your ninth if afflicted may lead you to question your Gurus or teachers and consider leaving them. You might be drawn into switching your beliefs at this time and take a different spiritual path. Foreign travel might be fraught with challenges so have a back up plan and make sure someone has copies of your passports and that you have the flexibility to change airline tickets if something unexpected comes up. If you are working on book, be prepared for major rewrites and that the process will take much longer than expected.
PISCES RISING OR MOON:
Rahu Transiting: 2nd House
Ketu Transiting: 8th House
If Rahu is unafflicted in transit or in your natal chart with no malefic associations from Saturn, Ketu or Mars, then this is a time to clean up your family relationships and possibly profit from foreign investments. Focus on speaking the truth and being cordial and pleasant. You might get a promotion, raise or earn extra money if you can start a side business or venture.
If Ketu is unafflicted in transit because of no natal or malefic associations from Saturn, Mars or the Sun, then your intuition may blossom during this transit. Research, self- discovery and psychological insights could be keen. This is a good time for seminars, courses or sessions with your therapist. Your partner may come into some unexpected money and you may become interested in esoteric subjects or metaphysics, as Ketu in the eighth house could make you much more sensitive to other dimensions.
If Rahu is afflicted in transit because of malefic associations from Saturn or Mars, then finances might be challenged. Money might dry up at times and come in spurts. You have to watch diet and eat pure foods as you might be prone to binge eating to cover up emotions. If you have not overcome addictive patterns than stay away from alcohol and recreational chemicals and do not use sexual activity to cover up emotional distress.
Watch your speech to avoid cursing or rough language so you do not hurt others.
If Ketu is afflicted in transit because of malefic associations with Mars, Saturn or the Sun, watch your health and your hypersensitivity. This may require being more grounded and doing regular yoga and exercise. You may develop hidden and undiagnosable health issues so keep looking for answers with alternative practitioners. There is always an answer out there even if traditional medicine cannot find one.
(Note: Saturn moves into Aquarius on April 26th into degress into mid-July and will throw a 60 degree aspect to Aries where Rahu is but it is not a strong aspect until next year.
