SUN IN TAURUS AND SUN IN KRITTIKA NAKSHATRA–THE PLEIADES

SUN IN TAURUS: MAY 14 – JUNE 14

SUN IN THE CONSTELLATION OF KRITTIKA  MAY 11-MAY 24 (ARIES 26.40-TAURUS 10)

The Sun in Taurus is in an enemy’s sign but has no bad aspects during its transit except for a 30-degree aspect from Rahu in Aries. If you were born with Sun in Taurus unafflicted you are artistic, good with people skills, enjoy pleasure, have stamina and a fixed purpose and have traditional values, and are good with business.

Sun transits into a new constellation of Krittika known by the West as the Pleiades on  Thursday, May 11th. Mars and Sun are friends with Sun in Aries and it promotes courage and leadership and is good transit.
The Taurus section loses some strength and brings out the more material side of leadership and politics, but it is still strong.

Sun is strong in its own constellation although some think that it can be out of balance in this position. Sun has immense courage and confidence during this transit and can create great power to handle difficult situations. People born May 11 – 24th have a warm, fierce and supportive energy and know how to use their power wisely.

The first pada (Aries 27.00 – 30.00) May 11 – 14th is connected to Sagittarius and is a healing zone and is a place of immense strength for the warrior energy to come out and protect society and do battle for great good.

Sun loses energy May 14 – 15th as it changes signs and is weak in degrees but then moves into the 2nd Pada, May 15 – 17th where the mind feels secure and nurtured.

The third Pada (May 18 – 21st) is always the most challenging section as loss, suffering and churning of deep fires of purification can happen here.

Finally, the 4th pada, (May 22 – 24) is owned by Pisces is particularly strong and has hidden positive qualities.

Prash Trivedi notes that Western astronomers connect this constellation with the Pleiades or the seven sisters. The ruling planet of the constellation is the Sun with Agni, the God of Fire, as the residing deity. The Shakti of this lunar mansion is ‘the power to burn away the negativity to get to the truth.’ Given all the smoke and mirrors with politics and the media, this energy will be welcome. It has a stronger nature for fulfilling material desires and its symbol is a razor, which cuts through the “bull” to get through to the truth.

The constellation allows one to go through extreme purification and get through blocks on the path.
Of course, Leos do best with the transit, as it is a 10th house transit where status and career can flourish. Cancer rising also enjoys fulfillment of desires and great friendships during this transit. Aries and Scorpios may get a bit of a relationship burn if they cannot tone down their drive for success at all costs. Geminis are challenged by the 11th house transit of the Sun.
