MARS SQUARE PLUTO: NOV. 19th –FEEL THE BURN

EYE ON THE SKY: MARS SQUARE PLUTO NOV. 19TH

Mars moves toward a  90 degree exact square  with Pluto on Nov. 19th  and is particularly potent within two degrees, Nov. 16-22nd.  In mythology Pluto, the god of the underworld was also called Hades which means “invisible” or “to make invisible”. Modern psychology connects Pluto and Scorpio to the unconscious and hidden part of mind and personality. The late Narendra Desai also felt that Pluto was a higher octave of Mars, the ruler of Scorpio, in classical or Vedic astrology. This supports the rationale of the rulership of Scorpio to Pluto in modern tropical astrology.  I find that the world “surrender to the Divine Will” is one of the highest aspect of Pluto energy.

Pluto is also very connected to power, energy, virility and t...

WEEKEND ASTROLOGICAL WEATHER FORECAST : TIL NOV. 20TH

EYE ON THE SKY: FOCUS ON SATURN/MOON

Saturn is still in the early degrees of Sagittarius and is not out of Aries navamsha in the D-9 until Nov. 27th.  So our fear/depression/anxiety watch is still up.  New moon this weekend in Scorpio could bring up emotional grunge and depression and is aspected by Rahu on Nov. 20th and then conjunct Saturn on Nov. 20th.

Stay on top of your mood swings with yoga, exercise and meditation or listening to uplifting music.  Deep emotional transformation wants to happen with the new moon in Scorpio so let go of the old and be open to new directions and changes in your life.

For now Moon conjunct Jupiter on Thursday night and then conjunct Venus overnight should uplift spirits today and probably on Friday but make sure to get rest over the weekend...

HIDDEN PSYCHOLOGICAL FLAWS BY RISING SIGN: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

HIDDEN FLAWS BY RISING SIGN: THE ACHILLES HEEL

There are  inherent flaws or Achilles heels for certain rising signs based on the houses which it owns.  The more complex rising signs that are owned by Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn have Achilles heels or life-long issues. These are Gemini, Virgo (Mercury), Capricorn and Aquarius (owned by Saturn) and Sagittarius and Pisces (owned by Jupiter).  Libra owned by Venus also comes into this group. There are core life-lessons associated for these signs due to the placement of key planets for their signs and the houses they own.

Often this is related to ownership of the 6th or 12th houses but sometimes the 7th houses is also involved so the relevant issues are challenges around habits, sacrifices and relationship...

SECRET OF THE ELEMENTS BY RISING SIGN: 5 SIGNS THAT HAVE PROBLEMS

Hidden Flaws By Rising Sign: The Achilles Heel

Our rising sign, which is called the Lagna in Vedic astrology, represents our personality, our temperament, disposition, tendencies, confidence, self-love and self-esteem and its afflictions reveal our inherent internal struggles. If the owner of the rising sign is strong and well-placed in his own or exalted sign or in friend’s houses or aspected by benefics, then he brings out his best qualities. More often than not, because we are human and working on perfecting our life, there is some affliction to the rising sign or its owner and therefore, the more challenging qualities come out.

There is also an inherent flaw or Achilles heel for each rising sign...

SUN IN SCORPIO: MAGICAL MYSTICAL TOUR AND SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS

EYE ON THE SKY: SUN IN SCORPIO NOV. 16-DEC. 15

The Sun moves into Scorpio on Thursday  and ends its difficult month in Libra.  The transition period from 29.20-0.40  Libra/Scorpio on Wednesday and Thursday can be an inauspicious time for starting new things and may create agitation during the transition.   Scorpio is the natural 8th sign of the zodiac owned by Mars and Ketu and represents the mystery of life, sexual or kundalini energy, the occult. It is a water sign and deep connected to intuition and higher spiritual knowledge and can bring up deep karmic and psychological releases.

Saturn is out of Scorpio and and will not hinder the Sun and Mars, the owner of Scorpio is a pleasant 11 houses away and supporting the Sun...

ARCHETYPAL PSYCHOLOGICAL PATTERNS IN OPPOSING HOUSES AND SIGNS

EYE ON ASTROLOGY:  SIGN and HOUSE POLARITIES  PART 1

I learn a great deal from Western astrologers and their psychological orientation and find that bringing their concepts into Vedic astrology is very helpful for understand basic archetypal impulses of the human psyche.  While the material below is basic, it is worthy of review with a Vedic twist. Basic natural house oppositions between the natural houses of the zodiac (Pisces as the natural 12th house and Virgo as the natural 6th house) sets up basic archetypal tensions that we all go through in our life.   The value of the material below is seen most through the transits of Rahu and Ketu since they are always in opposition tugging and pulling between desire and letting go, “I want” and “I do not want...

CONFESSIONS OF A JYOTISH ENTHUSIAST: THE WIZARD BEHIND THE CURTAIN IN THE LAND OF OZ

EYE ON ASTROLOGERS: WHO IS THIS CRAZY JYOTISH GUY?

I often wake up at 4 am in the morning with these ideas floating through my mind that demand that they be written down in the wee hours of the morning.  In that tender twilight, when my emotions are a bit raw coming out of sleep, I often feel the planetary energies and their challenges and they demand to be written about.  Often they flow out from the vast void of my 8th house, ruled by Gemimi that has a stationary Jupiter in Purnavasu nakshatra aspecting Mercury in Aquarius.

I have been blessed with automatic writing at times and stuff just flows out and I am not sure where it comes from.  Luckily I can produce good material in 20-40 minutes due to 30 years of daily writing for my financial columns...

Jupiter Conjunct Venus: Over-Indulgence and Appreciation of Your Relations hip

EYE ON THE SKY: JUPITER CONJUNCT VENUS NOV. 13TH.

Venus is moving toward conjunction and a planetary war with Jupiter  into Monday, Nov. 13th.  These two planets are benefics and their connection tends to expand humanitarian causes , skilled advisory and relationship counseling, luxury trade, and skill in advising.   The planetary war on Monday may bring out the darker side of sensual overload, dissipation of energy in pleasures, and overindulgence.

Venus wins the planetary war which runs two days between Nov. 12th and 13th and so Jupiter ruled signs like Pisces and Sagittarius may be particularly vulnerable to overspending or over-indulgence so make sure to avoid the extra piece of cheesecake or chocolate bar or you might pay for it.

On the bright side, the Jupiter connection to  Venus...

HIDDEN PSYCHOLOGICAL BLOCKS: THE SECRETS FOR CERTAIN RISING SIGNS FOR THE 7TH, 9TH AND 11TH HOUSES

EYE ON ASTROLOGY:  HIDDEN PSYCHOLOGICAL BLOCKS

There is a term in Vedic Astrology that is not discussed enough. It has a name that seems daunting but it is important to understand. It is know as Badhaka which translates into  a block or obstruction and represents planets that block your personal growth.  It is like Rahu with a shadow influence that runs your life  but it hard to understand or unblock because it is invisible.  They can be good planets but they have hidden shadow influences that are difficult to understand and may run your unconscious life.  In a sense they become a very core hidden  area that we cannot get a handle on.   (Parashara does not discuss them but the are in other texts like the Prashna Marga and the Jataka Parijat in Chapter 48.)

Because Vedic astrology i...

THE SNAKE IN TIME PART 3: KALA SARPA/AMRITA YOGA IN TRANSIT NOV 10-26

EYE ON ASTROLOGY: KALA AMRITA/SARPA  YOGA IN TRANSIT Nov. 10-26th

Kala Sarpa/Amrita yoga is  when Rahu and Ketu contain all the planets between them inclusively in the zodiac but a single planet going out of the axis, negates it.   So until   Feb. 3rd, when ever the moon is between Cancer and Capricorn all the planets are hemmed in between Rahu in Cancer  and Ketu in Capricorn.   The yoga is broken when the moon goes into Aquarius and until it gets to Rahu in Cancer every two weeks. This   yoga will continue until  Feb. 3rd  when the Sun  transits past Ketu .  While not normally included, Pluto and Neptune are also part of this combination and only Uranus in Aries  is out of the snake’s biting its own tail...
