Akshaya Tritiya: The Day of Good Luck and Success on April 18th

EYE ON VEDIC HOLIDAYS: AKSHAYA TRITIYA ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18TH

So when the Sun and the Moon are both exalted once a year and it is connected to the 3rd lunar day of the month, it becomes an auspicious day for starting important things and getting results. It is one of 3 days a year when you do not have to worry about what time you start something as the whole period is good. It roughly happens from midnight on Wednesday, April 18th until about 3 pm but please check your local calendar.  Time to sign an important contract,  start an important marketing campaign, start an important project or make an important phone call to get something important started and bring the fruits. The Sun and the Moon are also exalted at the same time on Thursday but then you do not have the blessings of doing something at any time that day.

Akshaya Tritya  is a highly auspicious and holy day. It falls during Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Vaishakha. Akshaya Tritiya falling on a Rohini Nakshatra day with Wednesday is considered very auspicious. The word Akshaya (अक्षय) means never diminishing. Hence the benefits of doing any Japa, Yajna, Pitra-Tarpan, Dan-Punya on this day never diminish and remain with the person forever.

Akshaya Tritiya is believed to bring good luck and success. Most people purchase Gold on this day as it is believed that buying Gold on Akshaya Tritiya brings prosperity and more wealth in coming future. Being Akshaya day it is believed that Gold, bought on this day, will never diminish and would continue to grow or appreciate.

Akshaya Tritiya day is ruled by Vishnu, the preserver in the Hindu Trinity. Usually, Akshaya Tritiya and Parashurama Jayanti, the birthday anniversary of 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, falls on the same day but depending on staring time of Tritiya Tithi Parashurama Jayanti might fall one day before Akshaya Tritiya day.

Vedic astrologers also consider Akshaya Tritiya an auspicious day free from all malefic effects. As per Hindu Electional Astrology, the three lunar days Yugadi, Akshaya Tritiya, and Vijay Dashami don’t need any Muhurta to start or perform any auspicious work as these three days are free from all malefic effect.

VEDIC ASTROLOGY TRANSIT GUIDE FOR 2018 – 2019

which fellow astrologers are acclaiming:

“This almanac is truly a masterpiece and labor of love. Barry is a gifted astrologer and writer. I have written yearly forecasts for over 30 years and understand the work, knowledge and dedication involved. It is so complete with everything a beginner or advanced student of astrology would need. The references to the planet’s transit through the signs, nakshatras, aspects, dates and times, plus their interpretations is fantastic. He even covers the effects these will have on individual countries. I am sure I will be referring to this manual frequently throughout the year.”
