SNEAK PREVIEW 2019-20 GLOBAL ECONOMICS : SATURN/PLUTO/KETU

EYE ON ASTRO-ECONOMICS:

There is a climax into January 13, 2020 with Saturn conjunct Pluto; when the karmic backlash of the abuse of power and the misuse of advanced technology can be the most severe. This could lead to unleashing of deadly power in the hands of organized purposeful institutionalized groups. On the bright side, there is a chance to overcome our most destructive spiritual ignorance, and our deepest fears, which have manifested as the institutionalized evils of oppression tyranny and war.

Also, in 2020 there are several key cycles that are important, which indicate a new populist experiment in religious, economic, political and social organization as Jupiter conjuncts the south node, Ketu. The alternative would be an increase in more out-of-control elitist corruption. It could also indicate hyperinflation necessitating the creation of a new, more just, monetary system.

Many people sense a global “end times”, particularly because of the decline of natural resources, the rapid extinction of species, and the intensification of extreme weather patterns. Will there be a new dawn following the dissolution of so much that has been taken for granted?

Saturn Conjunct Pluto

There is a new 33-38-year cycle starting in January 2020 when Saturn conjuncts Pluto.  The first get within a few degrees in April 2019 so we should get a sneak preview early.  This meeting of forces represents, among other things, the redistribution of power in the world, whether this occurs in plain sight or behind the scenes.

This cycle reflects a rite of passage determining who is most qualified to be the custodian of resources, and thus regulates who will be in a position of influence. In its purest form, this cycle is one of the highest tests of integrity and morality for those in authority, along with a test of capacity and resilience. Beyond the management of power, this cycle is also about the skill to increase power and the value of resources.

This cycle reflects a lesson about the right use of power, so it is also associated with corruption. Since it holds the key to the “bank coffers,” it also describes the temptation to disregard moral standards and use global resources to satisfy one’s greed. The IMF, the Central Banks and the Military Industrial Complex are set for a reckoning. Sooner or later, corruption is exposed, as this cycle represents the karmic consequences of misaligned actions.

History of Conjunction–Major Planetary Aspects and Synodic Periods

Looking back at previous cycles of Saturn conjunct Pluto there has always been major events. In October 1914, it was the outbreak of World War I. This global conflict certainly reshuffled power dynamics by dissolving the Russian monarchy, the Ottoman Empire, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which led to the redrawing of national borders within Europe.  It also market the founding of the Federal Reserve Bank which is foreign owned and which started siphoning off US tax payer dollars.

In 1931, the ½  period of this cycle defined an era that included the Great Depression, which started in October 1929, and the Geneva Convention relative to the ethical treatment of prisoners of war, which took effect in July 1931.

The next key part of this cycle happened in October 1947, soon after World War II ended; Germany and Japan lost military influence and dominance, and the power struggle between Capitalism and Communism gained greater intensity.

In 1947, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), whose aim is to foster global economic growth and reduce world poverty, began its operations.  This was connected to the Brenton Wood agreement after World War 2 which marked a new structure in world economics.  Given the movement away from the Petro-Dollar and the move of China and Russia and the BRIC countries to change world economics and subvert the US Swift System, we can easily see a shift happen in the way that world economic systems function.

1947 saw the division between India and Pakistan and their establishment as individual sovereignties. In the Middle East, Israel gained independence from the British in 1948, creating an incredibly complex power dynamic in the region with the return of the Jews’ spiritual influence in the markedly Arab-dominated region.

The following cycle of 1982 marked a time of economic recession in the world, with the highest rate of unemployment in the US since the Great Depression. It also marked the escalation of the Cold War during the Reagan years, later leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Soon after the cycle last peaked, in January 1983, the Kilauea volcano erupted in Hawaii; it has become the longest lasting volcanic eruption, still flowing in 2015.  What does 2020 hold?  This time we also have the inclusion of Ketu.

SATURN/PLUTO/KETU

We should also note the potential loss of power of  the Vatican in its battle with child abuse and its hidden web of power could easily happen. .  The last Saturn/Pluto/Ketu conjunction in Sagittarius  last occurred in 1517 and on Oct 31st of the  year 1517 when Martin Luther started with the publication of the Ninety-five Theses  which was the beginning of the Protestant Revolution  and the beginning of the  end of power of the grip of the Catholic Church.  That year also increased trade between Europe and China when Portuguese merchant Fernão Pires de Andrade meets Ming Dynasty Chinese officials through an interpreter, at the Pearl River estuary and lands, at what is now in the jurisdiction of Hong Kong.  Given the whole movement of trade happening with China and its restructuring of new silk roads with the Middle East and other countries, we can expect major developments of this movement.

Pluto also represents the Deep State and hidden government and bankers and power mongers that run the world.  The Saturn/Pluto conjunction should suggest a shake-up here.  In Europe, we have the break-away of Britain from the EU and there are other countries that would like to leave and currently Italy, Spain, Hungary and Poland are potential candidates to rupture the power of the European  banking system and EU.

What fellow astrologers are saying about last year’s edition:

“This almanac is truly a masterpiece and labor of love. Barry is a gifted astrologer and writer. I have written yearly forecasts for over 30 years and understand the work, knowledge and dedication involved. It is so complete with everything a beginner or advanced student of astrology would need. The references to the planet’s transit through the signs, nakshatras, aspects, dates and times, plus their interpretations is fantastic. He even covers the effects these will have on individual countries. I am sure I will be referring to this manual frequently throughout the year.”

What critics are saying:  “Barry’ Poetic Tour de Force unveils lays of psychological wisdom that heals the troubled soul.–Jamie Bateman

The book is accessible for people who do not know much about astrology and is meant for a larger audience and only small parts of it are technical .

SUMMARY:

The deepest purpose of astrology should allow us to see the Maya or illusion that runs through our mind and blocks us from seeing our own Divinity. Astrology should reveal our hidden patterns and not just affirm what we know about our self already. It is our hidden patterns and blind spots which get us into the most trouble and cause us the most suffering. It takes courage to look at them, bring them into the light and transforms them but that is why we are on the planet. It is much like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day (1993). How many times do we have to repeat our lives and relive our pain or do we realize our flaws and actively work on them and transform ourselves into a more conscious and active and loving and compassionate person. In this brilliant collection of essays divided into 7 sections, Psychological and Emotional and Spiritual Dimensions of Vedic Astrology, Secrets of the Houses, Blind Spots. Spiritual Astrology, Relationship and Techniques, Barry reveals material beyond the ordinary in unveiling our True Self beyond the illusion.    The great spiritual teacher Yogananda was fond of saying that  most of what we call the spiritual battle is really a psychological battle and once that battle is won, the spiritual battle is a short one.  This book aims to support you in deep spiritual growth with profound psychological insight.

Barry’s spiritual and psychological approach to astrology seeks to cut the puppet strings of the planets that impact our emotions and psychology and bind us to self-blame, doubt and fear, and anger.  This useful guide will help you navigate your life.
