EYE ON THE SKY: OCT 18-28TH ASTRO-WEATHER FORECAST
With the Sun in Libra now and bottoming into the lowest point of the year into Oct. 27th, you have to stay on top of health and positive self-talk. There could be a lot of negative self-talk coming up and you have to learn to dismiss it. Jack Canfield always recommends looking in the mirror at night for 5 minutes and talking up how great you are and remembering and focusing on your positives. It will be a good 2 weeks to practice that every night until Nov 5th.
The Sun rules health and in Libra it can lead to the immune system running down or feeling tired so get extra rest and go to bed early, stay on top of your yoga and meditation and make sure you are keeping your immune system strong. During the fall with the change of seasons, we have to drink more hot water during the day and stay off of cold and dry foods and favor warm and unctuous foods to pacify the Vata element. Taking colostrum or other products to boost your immune system helps.
Mercury moves into Scorpio on Oct. 23rd but does not get very far before it turns retrograde on Oct. 31st until Nov. 20th. Get your publications and computer back-ups and communications in order over the next 10 days. Mercury is weak in transit at the end of signs Oct 23-24th so stay on top of computers then.
Venus will move into Scorpio on Oct. 27th and we will have a special article about that. Use the next week to make strides in relationship issues and diplomatic events. Watch overspending as Venus in Jupiter’s nakshatra of Vishaka starting on Oct. 20th until Oct. 31st will increase the desire to spend so leave your credit cards home when you go to the mall and avoid that extra piece of cheesecake at a party. Still a wonderful time for Libra rising to manifest their desires and Venus can be a material genie in Libra.
MARS/SATURN MUTUAL SQUARE–OCT 27th exact ; range of influence Oct. 21-Nov. 3rd
Mars continues in Virgo and moves toward an exact mutual square (90/270 degree) with Saturn in Sagittarius. The impact of this transit will be felt from now until Nov. 3rd . Saturn is a bit stronger now as it moves away from Ketu but it is always a difficult aspect. It can bring out more recklessness and be more more intensity than usual. I am ruled by Mars and I have had a number of minor injuries during that aspect in the past.
It reminds me of my favorite police drama from the early 80’s, Hill Street Blues where the morning sergeant always ends the meetings with “You all be safe out there, ya hear.” So slow down and do not be reckless this week to prevent accidents. Watch Saturdays and Tuesdays, ruled by Mars and Saturn over the next two most and if you are running a Mars or Saturn period or have a Mars/Saturn aspect in your chart or if you are Virgo or Capricorn or Aquarius or Aries Rising.
The tendency is for anger and frustration to bubble up and you may snap at people. Resentment may flow through the mind. Delays and obstacles and indecision may bubble up. You will probably see more accidents and fires and terrorism in the news.
On a personal level, you have to proceed slowly and cautiously and perform all your tasks with care. You may find your efforts to assert yourself lead to irritation and frustration. Fear may bubble up and block you from moving forward so do the frog pose in yoga and remember the Nike motto: “Just do it.”
If you are ruled by Aries or Scorpio, you may feel your inadequacies come up and be overwhelmed by your inner fears. Authority figures like bosses and fathers may discourage you. The purpose of this transit is to move forward in your life regardless of heckling and what other think and rely on your own true sense of purpose. Watch out for anger and irritation and find a way to release it with exercise or just screaming at the top of your lungs in your car or an empty house when no one is looking.
Stay on top of your meditation and yoga and spiritual practices to stay even and grounded. Go easier and slower and be more patient and aware to avoid accidents and angry flare-ups. Give people the benefit of mistakes that happen and be forgiving rather than fly off the handle. This is a 2-week period to practice mindfulness and observe what is happening in the mind and body and to stay balanced and not over-react. Find away to laugh at situations and practice patience. If you do not stay on top of sleep, if you indulge in bad habits that are not good for you, if you are not mindful, it may seem rough and frustrating.y.
